My Work Wear Style: Summer Addition

In my previous work /office style post here, I talked about the power of a blazer with a great pattern! Continuing along that same line of thought, I wanted to talk about adding a linen blazer to your closet. In my opinion, this linen trend is essential during the summertime, especially in an office setting! It’s classy, chic & can be laundered at home which is awesome!

My absolute favorite way to style this trend has been adding it to floral patterned pieces like these fab & flowy wide-leg pants!! Then I’ve been layering bold statement pieces like wide belts, oversized necklaces & embellished heels.

But Amy, isn’t that a little too “Dynasty in the 80s?”

Maybe, but…

a: They rebooted that show recently & it’s filled with bold prints & over-sized style-awesomeness straight from the runway!

b: Similar looks are all over department stores & online right now.

c: I think this outfit is super fun & sometimes work isn’t so much so why-not get a bit of enjoyment out of what you’re wearing!!!

Plus, you can take inspiration from this look & incorporate similar pieces in a subtler way!

A few styling examples based off of pieces from this look:

-Style a linen blazer with flared jeans, simple skinnies or a light weight skirt.

-Pair the wide leg floral pants with a nude blouse & solid jacket/blazer or knit.

-Cinch your suit with a bold belt like mine.

-Keep your outfit neutral & have some fun with oversized accessories & a bold lip.
