Ah “AMORE DAY”…..
What will you being doing with your loved one(s) today/ this weekend?
Do you need a few style guided tips on what to wear for the occasion? I’ve got you!
Wether you’re choosing a more casual kind of Valentine’s Day or a romantic night out, these tips will help you navigate through your closet with ease.
The key to looking good on any special occasion is always remembering to choose pieces that a: give you a healthy dose of confidence & b: feel good on your body.
For me there’s a few specific ways to achieve this.
–First off: SHOES–
Wear shoes you not only LOVE, but are also comfortable in. I’m sorry but no matter how cute the shoe, if I can’t even walk from a parking lot to a restaurant without wincing in pain, it’s just not worth it. Who wants to remember the night in blisters? Not me!
So, pick a pair that ONE, you’ve worn before & therefore are properly broken in & TWO, make you smile when you look at them.
I’m serious! When you’re celebrating you should be wearing things you love & cherish. Trust me, it will make the day that much better!
I picked these Steve Madden’s because they have survived full nights of dancing in Vegas. Insert “Dancing Girl Emoji.”
–Ok next up:THE OUTFIT–
It doesn’t matter what you’re doing for Valentine’s Day, make sure you pick something that feels good on your body.
Fabric is key! I don’t like anything that isn’t soft to the touch.
Valentine’s Day celebrations normally involve some kind of close proximity so I hate when fabric is scratchy or itchy!
It ruins the moment! Trust me, if you have things in your closet like that, donate them immediately!
Also, think about the silhouettes & colors that flatter you the most: “What brings out my eye color?… Shows off my best features? etc….”
This lovely lace midi dress by WAYF not only looked pretty on, it was super comfortable to wear & the fabric was so stretchy I felt like I could run a lap if I needed to.
This length is a good option because you don’t have to worry about tugging at your dress all night.
Also, remember a jacket or sweater in case it gets chilly…or you can be sneaky & see if he offers you his jacket. 😉 Bonus pts. for him if he does!
–Remember to: ACCESSORIZE–
On special occasions, I tend to pick jewelry that has sentimental value attached.
Wearing a special piece that a loved one gave you (especially if you’re going out with that same person,) not only feels great on, I guarantee they’ll notice you’re wearing it which makes them feel good too!
Plus, you’ll be making a new memory to attach to the special piece(s)!
–Lastly: BRING A BAG–
Always choose a bag that will fit everything you need. (think touch-up products like a compact brush, gloss, small hand mirror & sunglasses, etc…)
It can be as simple as a tote, cute backpack or wallet with a chain, just as long as you feel prepared but not weighed down. Ya’ feel me?
Personally, I opt for a clutch that has a small attachable strap in the evening (that I can keep inside it incase I need it later) & a light satchel or crossbody bag for daytime events.
