This will be the first installment of my Style File series. I want to focus this series around little things you can easily do to switch up your look, change the feel of a space or room & style pieces that you already have in a new way.
I love outfits that not only look good but can reimagine a clothing piece you currently have hanging in your closet.
For example, I took this keyhole velvet halter top (that you would likely plan on wearing for a night out,) reversed the necktie & knotted it in the front with a bow. Not only does it make it aesthetically more interesting (to me,) it also covers up your chest a bit more. It’s fun & flirty without being “too much” for daytime. The key element (no pun intended,) is wearing a halter top that properly fits your bust. Since I’m on the smaller side in that department, I can get away with a bit more of a plunge. That being said, I’ve linked several different versions of this style below for every beautiful shape & size. And…if you plan on going out later, simply switch that tie back to it’s usual spot, lose the hat & you’re ready for Happy Hour or wherever your night takes you!
Outfit Details:
Paige ‘Rowan Destructed Jacket.’ Currently on SALE. I think I’ve found my favorite denim jacket! It’s really soft denim & the distressing makes it look a bit cooler & lived in.
Astr ‘Velvet Burnout Halter Tank.’ This top is no longer available (Since it was my reimagined piece,) but I’ve listed similar selections here, here & here. I also found this beautiful plus size option as well as this one by City Chic.
Hudson Jeans ‘Collin Flap Skinny Jeans.’ They are slimming with a good amount of stretch to them, which is a MUST for me in the “skinny jeans” department. I love black jeans, they look a bit classier to me & the pocket detail provides more shape to your posterior. I mean who doesn’t want a better butt?
Sam Edelman ‘Blake Bootie.’ I get complimented on these soft suede booties every single time I wear them. The heel isn’t too high so they are comfortable to walk in & the pointed toe elongates your legs.
Diff Eyewear ‘Bella – Matte Black Frame- Pink Mirror Lens.’ I’d never heard of this brand before my sister-in-law gifted this pretty pair to me for Christmas. I love the gold detailing & colorful mirrored lenses. The BEST part, Diff is a charitable eyewear company. For every pair sold, they donate a pair of reading glasses. They’ve partnered with”Eyes on Africa.” A non-profit organization with the purpose of distributing glasses to communities in Africa where there is no vision care.
Vince Camuto ‘Mini Wool Square Stud Panama Hat’ (tan version linked.) I found alternative options here. My Hat Motto:“Having a bad hair day…add a structured hat! Need to make you outfit pop…add a hat! Weather not cooperating….add a…I think you get my point.”
Do you have an idea for the next installment of my Style File? Please share! I want this series to be as helpful as possible & that means I need your valued input.
