I have a major fondness for Palm Springs. It has been an amazing local destination for a number of day trips, birthday celebrations, holidays & I even spent a whole week at the “Ocean’s Eleven” house with friends & family last year for our 10yr. anniversary. It is the perfect place to go to for an uber-relaxing vacation. “I mean sitting by the pool for hours drinking a mojito while the husbands & boyfriends golf kind of vacation.” I love that as soon as you get there it’s like you’re instantly transported back in time. I’ve always been a lover of all things vintage. I’m talking from the early 1900s all the way up to the 1970s. Palm Springs, for the most part, still has that Rat Pack persona; from the architecture, to the shop decor, local art, dinner shows & restaurant options. Honestly there are not a lot of places like it that still celebrate that era so strongly.
This time around we were only in town for a couple days on a work related trip. The hubs was up and out early & I would invoice & write for 4-5 hrs. in the hotel then immediately head out to the pool when the sun was blazing with a good book. Not a bad gig right?
We took these photos our last day in town on our way to a late lunch. It was almost a 100 degrees out so lightweight & breezy was my main focus when choosing my outfit.
Outfit Details:
Quay Australia: Sagano 50mm Square Sunglasses. I love tortoise frames, especially with a retro shape. I sported these in my Big Bear mini getaway post too. Take a peek here. I adore the blue lenses on this pair. They look so beautiful in person as well as in pictures & are the perfect addition to your spring & summer wardrobe.
Quay (sounds like key,) as a brand, not only carry a ton of sunglass styles (for both men & women) but they’re relatively inexpensive, regularly go on sale & are always on trend for the current season. In fact, I own an upwards of a dozen pairs now. Shop the brand’s current collection here & here. I’ve linked a few more pairs I own below & at the bottom of this post.

Threadsence: Sapphire Visions Printed Dress (use the link to sign up for a restock notification.) A light weight maxi dress is an absolute must for your spring & summer wardrobe. I honestly feel I could never have too many. They look great on everyone & can be the perfect solution for the “I have nothing to wear” mind monster that lives within all of us. Wether you are simply covering up a swim suit, meeting friends for brunch or going to a semi-casual event like a wedding. I’m telling you a maxi dress is the answer.
Like this leafy design maxi here or this lovely cream crocheted bodice by Hippie Hippie Chic also available on the Lulu’s site here. I love this dress & this maxi available at revolve.com & I have this one on my wish list. Show Me Your Mumu does fabulous vacation wear. This banana leaf maxi has me urging to be under a palm tree drinking a pina colada. See photos of my dress pics below that also give you direct links too.
Lush: Lace Kimono. Kimonos are a fantastic option for a light cover-up when the weather doesn’t call for anything as cumbersome as a sweater or jacket. I appreciate stores like Francesca’s that not only stays on trend but also provides clothing at a very reasonable price. Shop their complete selection of kimonos here.
A few of my favorites: this ivory lace option & this lacey scalloped version. This sapphire lace kimono is the perfect jewel toned pop for your spring wardrobe. The drawstring at the sides of this floral kimono would look great with shorts & a tank or styled with your swimsuit & sun hat. I also linked a few more options at the bottom of this post.
Jeffrey Campbell: Lima Strappy Sandal. (I’ve linked the current color combos available.) These wrap sandals were a Hautelook flash sale find & are so so so comfortable. They almost feel like you aren’t wearing anything on your feet at all. The best part is they are only $65!
